extra-textual forces pressing & expressing themselves … endeavor’s repairing the fissures, caressing the crevices, addressing the peculiar yet deliberate holes the text we’ve pursued left wide. 

While the winners here—more fortunate, less necessarily skilled—are celebrated, the losers are attacked, raped, murdered & worse.  Even more perverse are the spectators observing, cheering, exuberant, seemingly unconcerned.

Eventually, above the others, Perec’s constrained pieces—pieces written leaving some element devoid, perhaps circumvented—yielded the fullest celebration.
