This whole tradition\u2013the idea that women need be preserved in glass so as not to \u201cruin\u201d themselves, lest they diminish their sexual value by \u201cgiving it away\u201d\u2013restricts the lived autonomy of women in ways I can\u2019t even begin to articulate.
