Visitors were encouraged to sit silently across from the artist for a duration of their choosing, becoming participants in the artwork. Abramovi\u0107, acting as an \u201cemotional mirror\u201d to the patrons, silently stared at them, often inducing deeply profound and heartbreaking reactions.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>when people see you, witness your life. it\u2019s powerful. i wish a Black woman was present in this. I hope we consider how we can see and witness Black women\u2019s lives every day.
